We earlier informed you that Windows 10 will be available for free upgrade for a year from July 29 for users with genuine Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 on their desktops, laptops. The Windows 10 update for Smartphones will be available later this year. Now there is news for new users or non-genuine users of Windows who are interested in purchasing the new Windows 10.
If you are using home versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, you will be able to upgrade your OS to Windows 10 Home without any cost and if you have a genuine Pro version of any of the Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 you can upgrade to pro version of Windows 10 for free.
Now if you are building a new PC, have Windows XP or have a non-genuine version of Windows installed you will have to purchase a copy of Windows 10 to make it Genuine. Microsoft officially revealed that Windows 10 Home will be available at a rate of $119 (approx. INR 7500) and Windows 10 Pro at a price of $199 (approx. INR 12,600). However this is the official pricing for US and Windows 10 will be priced differently in India and other countries. Nothing has been officially announced about the pricing of Windows 10 in India, but we will keep you updated about the same.
Also there is a plan for users using home versions of Windows 7 and above, and they want to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, they can upgrade to Pro at a rate of $99 (approx. INR 6300).
