Alcatel today announced their first wearable smartwatch named ‘Alcatel OneTouch WATCH’. It is very similar to Moto 360 in looks with circular Analog dial and offers heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyrometer, altimeter and compass. The Watch is compatible with Android and iOS running smartphones but unlike other werables, this is not running on Android Wear Platform. Alcatel has used a companion app that allows you to read the notifications on your smartphones instead of watch.
What makes it compete with Android Wear powered watches is its battery life. Where most of Android wear devices requires to be charged everyday, according to Alcatel, OneTouch Watch will offer you minimum 2 days battery life. And if you turn off unrequired features, than it can run upto 5 days in single charge.
Talking about design, OneTouch Watch comes in two different variants, i.e. Metal and Plastic packaging. Users can choose one according to their style. As of now there is no actual details about its availability but we can expect it somewhere in third quarter this year. As far as pricing is concerned, Alcatel will sell this watch for $149.99 in US and £150 in UK.
