Many of us will expect that the release will be at Mobile World Congress in late February or early March and that still may happen but will report from venturebeats suggest that we may see something as early as January. According to venturebeats, Samsung’s upcoming flagships could make their first public appearance at CES in LAS Vegas in early January, but the company is still expected to hold an unpacked event in March where the two handsets will be officially announced.
It’s also believed the two device will come with same curved displays as the Galaxy S8 series, this means we’ll see a 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch SUPER AMOLED panels with qHD+ resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio. A reminder that the Galaxy S8 and S8 plus are identical expect for screen and battery sizes, things may be different when it comes to their successors though.
The Galaxy S9 plus is said to have 6GB of RAM compared to 4GB of RAM on S9. It may also feature a dual camera set-up while the S9 should only a single shooter on the back. Rumors also claim that the camera could capture video at a 1000 frames per second for those supper slow-mo. shots but there’s no word if this applies to both model just yet.
Both device are believed to be powered by the same chipset, with either Exynos 9810 or the unannounced Snapdragon 845 depending on the countries you live. Reports also mentioned 64GB of storage, a Micro-SD card slot and a new location for the fingerprint scanner, but not embedded in the display, might be for Galaxy Note 9.
DESIGN: They might look similar to their predecessors with a few exceptions. According to the reports, handsets will have a smaller bezels below and an above the display, the screen body ratio can be as high as 90% which is better that S8. Expect from the smaller bezels we’re not expecting anything to change up front, but on the back that is different due to fingerprint scanner’s new location. The backs of the two smartphones won’t also look identical because of the S9 Plus’s dual camera setup.
Talking about price, it will be a lot. The S8 and S8 Plus launched at $725 and $825 making them more expensive than their predecessors. Even though the S9 and S9 Plus won’t offer more than the S8 series, rumors claim they might come with higher price tag. Now a point here to think is, a decent gaming laptop is less than one of the major flagships, crazy world we live in. let us know what you all think about this, Samsung fans too.
