Xiaomi Redmi 2 is the new and upgraded edition of last years best seller Xiaomi Redmi and Redmi 1S. The is now already up for pre-order in China at the price tag of $113, which is approximately Rs. 7,000 in India. It is a Dual SIM phone running on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with MIUI v6. Xiaomi has powered the device with 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916 ) 64-bit processor, 1GB of RAM and Adreno 305 GPU making it good enough in all aspects. Because of its 64bit processor, i guess Xiaomi will also plan for Android Lollipop update in future.
With Redmi 2 users also get an 8 Megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and Omnivision sensor. While on the front facing we get 2 Megapixel camera. Rear camera Supports Full HD 1080p video recording while the front camera supports upto 720p. As per storage we get 8GB built0in while this can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD Card. Redmi 2 comes with 4.7 inch IPS touch display offering 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. In terms of connectivity the phone supports 4G LTE/3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is powered with 2200mAh battery.
