OnePlus has come up with something very much innovative to launch their new Flagship Smartphone. They revealed that OnePlus 2, the potent successor of OnePlus One, will be launched in a virtual reality event today (June 27th) where users all over the world can live stream the launch using their VR cardboards.
It is the first time a product will be launched in virtual reality. Telling about how the launch will be, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said,
“A VR launch lets you stand right next to our team and our fans as we unveil our new flagship, we aren’t talking at you; we are talking with you. You’ll be able to look around as you check out the phone in a new way and maybe even find a few hidden Easter eggs. It’s a new way of thinking about a product launch.”
Carl Pei has also revealed that they have lost money on the event, but they would love to share it to customers and offer an amazing experience. Let’s wait and watch whether that OnePlus 2 Smartphone will be as innovative and interesting as its launch event.
Especially for this event launch of OnePlus 2, OnePlus has designed its own VR Cardboard headsets, this will allow you to watch and experience the entire event by just looking through the cardboard with your Smartphone attached to the cardboard.
Till now the company has only revealed that the Smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor and will come with USB Type-C support, other features of the Smartphone will be disclosed in this event.
The event will go live on July 27th 7:00 PM (Pacific Time) and on July 28th 7:30 AM (IST) in India.
