At WWDC 2016 Event, Apple was as impressive as ever. One of their new announcement was the all new watchOS 3 that brings freshness to your Apple Watch. This new operating system has many new features but the best out of them all is called ‘Instant Launch’. This lets you open the apps 7 times faster compared to WatchOS2 by keeping them in memory and now get updates in the background.
Another important feature added to watchOS3 is the ‘Dock’. It keeps all your favorite apps in the dock which can be accessed by swiping your home screen to up side. You can now even reply to messages right in notifications. The watch now also supports handwriting. If you are in too noisy place to command with your voice, simply draw text onscreen with a Scribble mode and the watch will react. We have seen this in Android Wear 2.0.
Yet another helpful feature in watchOS 3 is the one tap emergency calls. Just hold down the side button and SOS calls up to local emergency services and sends message to emergency contacts. Apart from these, you now also have many new fresh faces for the home screen. Apple has also revamped the complete UI to make it more user-friendly and fast to access apps and information.
Apple has also introduced some new fitness apps, one of which is called ‘Breathe’. It helps you stay healthy reminding you to take care of yourself by offering breathing techniques and encouraging for relaxation. Another new Fitness app lets you connect with other users to see or show them activity and progress.
Apple WatchOS 3 also brings opportunity for third party apps because Apple has now enabled support for Apple Pay, fitness apps, digital crown access, iOS frameworks like CloudKit and Game Center and lots more. The new watchOS 3 will be available to Public later this year, however, the developer preview is already rolled out.
