After Idea, Airtel today announced up to 67% more 3G/4G data at the current data prices. This is the second important announcement from Airtel in a week after launching Happy Hours couple of days ago. Seems like all Indian operators are preparing themselves to compete with Reliance Jio which will be available from next month.
This Artel extra Data offer is available on both Monthly as well as Sachet Packs. At Rs. 5, we use to get 15MB data which is now revised to 20MB data. Similarly, Rs. 145 use to offer 440MB which will not offer 580MB data. While on monthly packs, Rs. 455 plan was offering 2GB data which is now revised to 3GB data which is 50% more. It goes up to Rs. 989 where we use to get 6.5GB but now we get 10GB data.
The highest benefit we get is in the Rs. 655 plan which used to offer 3GB Data but now we get 5GB data, about 67% more data. The same benefit also applies on 2G Sachet Packs. At Rs. 25 we now get 145MB data instead of 100MB.
Ajai Puri, Director – Operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel said about this revised data plans:
At Airtel, we always aim to deliver a great mobile experience and value to our customers. These refreshed data packs will help drive consumption and boost the uptake of mobile internet in the country. Given the deepening smartphone penetration and Airtel’s roll-out of data networks across India, we believe these packs will also drive affordability and bring new users online.
