Samsung has just announced its latest Flagship ‘Galaxy S8’ and ‘Galaxy S8+’ at the scheduled Samsung Unpacked launch event. As always, Samsung has introduced so many new features and new Design to its new S series flagship smartphone. Specially after what happened with Galaxy Note 7.
Talking about the design, the new Galaxy S8 and S8+ comes with Quad HD+ Infinity Display. That’s the major change in the design company has done. Infinity Display is not just sharper but also Bezel less offering your end to end screen. You hardly notice where the screen ends and frame starts. Galaxy S8 comes with 5.8 inch display while S8+ features 6.2 inch screen. It is Super AMOLED Quad HD+ display offering 2960 × 1440 pixels and protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. While S8 offers 570ppim S8+ offers 529ppi pixel density.
Furthermore, as per security, Samsung has added Face Recognition, Iris Scanner and Fingerprint sensor to S8 and S8+. Fingerprint sensor is at the rear facing this time. Remember, Samsung has removed its traditional Physical Home button with these two new smartphones. In fact, both S8 and S8+ features Invisible Home Button. When you touch the specific place on the screen, the Home Button appears, with Back and Apps keys.
There’s one more new addition Samsung has introduced with Galaxy S8 and S8+. Its called BixBy. It is your all new assistant that not only learns from your phone using habits but also leverages contextual awareness and enhance the way you interact with your smartphone. Talking about Galaxy S8 and S8+’s specifications, Samsung has powered both the phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Octa-Core / Adreno 540 GPU while for some countries they come with Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 Octa Core processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. Phones come in two variants as per storage and RAM, i.e. 4GB LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB storage (UFS 2.1) and 6GB LPDDR4 RAM with 128GB storage (UFS 2.1). Well, you can imagine the powerful performance we can expect from these devices. Both the devices support expandable memory cards.
Samsung has also revolutionized photography with these new Flagships. They come with 12 Megapixel Dual Pixel rear camera having LED Flash and f/1.7 aperture, while for Selfie fans, there’s an 8 Megapixel auto focus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture. Furthermore, there are whole lot of features that makes your capturing experience much better and comfortable. Such as Smart Autofocus, Stickers, Dual Pixel sensor, Pro Mode, Selective Focus, Food Mode, and more.
As per connectivity, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ support 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth v 5.0 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0, NFC and MST. Phones are powered with 3000mAh battery on S8 and 3500mAh battery on S8+. Both these support Fast charging on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging.
Now coming to the Price and availability, Samsung will start shipping Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ from April 21st world wide, however, preregistrations are already open. Devices will be available in 5 different color options including Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, Maple Gold, Orchid Gray and Midnight Black. Talking about the price, Galaxy S8 will cost $750 USD that is approximately Rs. 48,660, while Galaxy S8+ costs $850 that is Rs. 55,200/-
