After two months of time, LeEco has now now rolled out thefirmware update ‘eUI 5.5.014S’ for Le 1S and Le Max in India. The update brings several bug fixes to the device including Camera, Calendar, Map, Browser, Player and more. Apart from that, LeEco has also added LeLive Function and LeEco membership with this firmware. Battery has been optimized too for longer performance.
The update is now available for both the device over OTA (Over-the-Air). If you haven’t received the same yet on your phone, go check it manually by going to Settings > System > Updates. The firmware is huge, about 1.2GB in size, so i will recommend you to do it while connected over WiFi.
In case, due to any reason, you can’t update it over OTA, then here is the manual method. You can download the new EUI 5.5.014S firmware on computer and flash it manually on the phone. yeah, its pretty simple and doesn’t requires and expertise. Here’s how to do that.
Installing eUI 5.5.014S manually on Le 1S and Le Max:
- First of all you need to install the LeEco USB Drivers on your computer.
- Charge up the phone up to 60% to make sure it wont get drained out during the process
- Now download the eUI 5.5.014S firmware on your computer. Download it for Le 1S and Le Maxhere.
- Make sure the firmware package is named as ‘update’
- Now connect the phone using USB cable and copy the Firmware package in Phone storage. Copy it in the root directly, Not inside any folder
- Now disconnect the cable.
- In the phone, go to System update-> Settings-> Local update-> Continue.
That’s it. Phone will start updating the phone. It may reboot the device. You only need to leave the phone idle for about 10 minutes and let the process go comfortably. Once done, enjoy the new features and better performance on your Le 1S and Le Max.
