Microsoft declared that they will be revealing an Over-the-air (OTA) update for the selected Lumia devices. This new update is codenamed as “Lumia Denim” and will be released soon for only for devices like Lumia 830, 930, 1520 and Lumia Icon. The big news about this update is said to be bring the Lumia Camera 5 with improved quality and functionality of clicking images and capturing videos on the whole new level.
As we know Lumia 535 and 830 already have Denim firmware, but other Windows phone OS 8.1 mobiles can be expected to receive the update starting from early next year. The existing camera on Lumia devices represents as Lumia Camera classic, earlier it was known by the name Nokia Camera because Nokia was the sole manufacturer of Lumia devices but now the owner is Microsoft so it has to remove the reservations and has been renamed as Lumia Camera 4. Microsoft has tweaked the camera system to the Predecessor version, which they can easily enable by downloading from the store and install it on their Lumia device.
So it’s just a matter of time, while the Lumia devices will start receiving Denim OTA update and those set in the first batch will get the Lumia Camera 5 included. All those rumors which reveal that there would be a separate app update, but the rumor ends here as the Microsoft’s official have replied to the questions asked which states that
“Lumia 830, 930, 1520 and Icon will automatically get the new Lumia Camera 5 application with the Lumia Denim software update. Lumia Camera Classic represents the existing camera (formerly known as Nokia Camera, now Lumia Camera 4). This application lets you revert back to the predecessor version. Go to Store to download and install”.
