Google’s next major update for mobile is Android 7.0 which we used to know as Android N which was later officially named as ‘Android 7.0 Nougat’. Since we all know its last and final build was already rolled out last month, next we can expect is the final Nougat taste. But there is no official announcement made by Google so far about the release date of Android Nougat.
Still, the update seems to be released this Monday, August 22nd. How? The report comes from Canadian operator Telus whose software update list shows Android Nougat Update for Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P scheduled for August 22nd.
We can believe Telus report because it has been accurate last year too with the Marshmallow launch date. So, it could be this time as well. Yet another thing that supports the launch date of Nougat is LG’s new Preview Program. LG announced this program recently under which they are offering Nougat update to first come first served 2000 LG G5 users. Surprisingly, the Update start date of this program is also August 22nd. Which means, although the program is Live from couple of days, Google don’t wanted LG to roll out the update before before Nougat’s official release.
So, good news for Nexus and Android users. While those two Nexus devices are first in the queue to taste Android 7.0 Nougat, other Android users will likely receive the update sometime very soon.
[Update]: As expected, Google has officially rolled out Android 7.0 Nougat Update for Nexus lineup.
