Finally one of the most awaited features has hit the most popular messaging client, WhatsApp. As seen back in May this year, the developers has finally added Video Calls support to WhatsApp Beta version.
You must be a Beta tester (as of now) to use the Video Calling feature and also you can only make the calls to Beta users only who are running WhatsApp v2.16.316 or above. To make video call, you can do it from Call window OR open the chat window and tap the call icon. Now on you will see two options here, Voice Call and Video Call. Simply Tap the video call to make it.
As said the recipient must also should be running v2.16.316 Beta version, if not, you will see an error message saying “Couldn’t place call. Recipient (name) needs to update WhatsApp to receive video calls” OR “Couldn’t place call. Recipient (name) is using a phone that doesn’t support video calls.”
Now talking about the call quality, i must say it is really surprising. We can also say that WhatsApp video calling is directly competing with Google Duo. Few calls we made from WhatsApp worked seamlessly even on slow networks. Video quality was really good except some problems in the audio.
So, folks who had to install some another video calling apps to make just video calls now don’t need it anymore. Because WhastApp is all sufficient alone for text messages, voice calls as well as video calls. If you are Beta users, get your WhstaApp updated right away from PlayStore or get the latest APK File from here directly.
