Last month Xiaomi announced their next major update, MIUI 8, that comes with a set of new features. As they promised, they have rolled out the MIUI 8 China Developer ROM (v6.6.16) for number of Xiaomi smartphones including Xiaomi Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Redmi 1, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2, and Redmi Note 3 (Mediatek and Qualcomm variants).
Remember, this is only Chinese ROM. If you are having any of those Chinese device, you must install this ROM to get the taste of new features before the world does. Since it is the official ROM, no matter you flash it manually, it is not going to break your device’s warranty. Also, the process is quite simple. It can be done in few minutes using Xiaomi PC Suite, or follow the step by step MIUI 8 Installation process provided here. Remember, if you are already having MIUI China Developer ROM installed on your Xiaomi phone, then you can simply go to Updater and get it through OTA Update. Or you can manually check for new updates on Update. And if you are running any Stable ROM, then you will have to follow that manual Installation Guide.
