All big brands now a days are busy in changing the future of smartphones by bringing their Foldable phones with flexible displays. Recently Samsung launched Galaxy Fold at the Unpacked event along with Galaxy S10 Lineup. While Royole has already showed up their FlexPie Foldable phone, and Xiaomi has already leaked their Foldable phone in a short video, others are still in news.
But apart from them, here comes Huawei with a masterpiece of the future ‘Mate X 5G Foldable Phone’. This is Huawei’s first ever foldable phone introduced yesterday at the ongoing event in Barcelona that not only impressed the users but also turned to be a huge rival for all other brands, including the Big ones.
Talking about this future phone, Huawei Mate X is just 5.4mm at its thinnest point featuring an amazing 6.6 inch 19.5:9 OLED display with 2480 x 1148 pixels resolution when folded, 6.38 inch OLED 25:9 display with 2480 x 892 pixels resolution for back panel and an 8 inch OLED 8:7.1 display with 2480 x 2200 pixels resolution when unfolded.
In simplest form, the device comes with a 6.6 inch OLED screen on the front along with a 6.38 inch screen on the back and when it expands, it turns into an 8 inch display in unfolded state. Huawei has used Falcon Wing design with a stretchable hinge to offer flat and smooth finish on both sides of the phone. This hinge also protects it from over stretching and bulging while folding or unfolding.
Huawei has powered the new Mate X 5G with powerful Kirin 980 (2 x Cortex A76 2.6 GHz + 2 x Cortex A76 1.92 GHz + 4 x Cortex A55 1.8 GHz) processor along with 720 MHz ARM Mali-G76MP10 GPU as well as Balong 5000 5G modem making it the fasted 5G phone. Furthermore, the processing is teamed up with massive 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB internal storage memory which can be expanded up to 256GB using NM card.
Other connectivity features of Mate X include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz) (wave2), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 dual band), NFC and USB Type-C. It is backed up with 4500mAh batery with world’s first 55W (10V/4A) HUAWEI SuperCharge fast charging technology that boosts up the battery from 0% to 85% in just 30 minutes of charge.
Huawei Mate X 5G comes out of the box running Android 9.0 (Pie) with company’s own EMUI 9.1.1 custom skin. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side into the power button. For camera fans, Mate X carries triple Leica camera setup that includes a whopping 40 Megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, secondary 16 Megapixel Ultra Wide Angle lens, and an 8 Megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The same camera can also be used for Selfies after folding the phone.
