Xiaomi today announced ‘Xiaomi Redmi 2A’ , a cheaper variant of Redmi 2. They announced the phone at their 5th anniversary celebration. Being a variant of affordable Redmi series, the 2A is very similar Redmi 2 in specifications. Let’s have a close look.
Redmi 2A is a dual sim phone running on Android 4.4 Kitkat based MIUI v6 ROM. It sports an HD 4.7 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and powered on 1.5 GHz quad-core LCI Leadcore L1860C processor. Further the phone is accompanied by 1GB of RAM and Mali T628 dual-core GPU making the phone better not only in performance but also in Gaming. As per storage, it comes with 8GB internal memory with support of upto 32GB microSD card.
The phone comes with 8 Megapixel camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and Omnivision sensor at rear facing allowing you to capture high quality pictures and Full HD 1080p video recording. At front facing it sports a 2 Megapixel shooter capable to record upto 720P HD videos, and of course amazing selfies. Redmi 2A also appears good in connectivity supporting 4G LTE/3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Xiaomi is running the phone on 2200mAh battery.
As of now there is no exact date available for Redmi 2A release but we can expect it soon. As per price, it costs 599 Yuan, i.e. $97 or Rs. 6,050 approximately. Xiaomi Redmi 2A will be available in five color choices, i.e. Dark gray, Light Green, Bright Yellow, Pink and White.
