Google has released the final Developer Preview version of its next major update ‘Android N‘. There won’t be any more Dev Preview, but the final version of the udpate. In this version, we can’t see any new feature. The preview only brings the final edition of Android N SDK with final APIs (Android Support Library 24). Users having Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, and Pixel C devices, as well as General Mobile 4G (Android One) can download and flash the update right away. You can download it from Official Website, or also from the Android N Beta program. Remember, Sony Xperia Z3 users can also download the Developer Preview in their phone.
With this final SDK and API 24, Developers can build thier services and apps based on Android N which may include picture-in-picture callbacks, multi-window, Reply from Notification and more. This is also the last chance to test your app’s backward-compatibility. So, if you are having any of those mentioned Nexus Smartphones or tablets, go ahead and download the Developer Preview 4. It’s build number is NPD56N.
We will also soon get to know the real name of Android N since the website they launch to get name suggestions from users is now closed. Also the final update release is near. However, we heard the name ‘Namey McNameface’ during the Google IO16 and also long tapping the N logo in Developer Previews reveals the same name. But i’m sure that’s not the final name of Android N.
