Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the much anticipated smartphone or phablet (whichever you like) of this year and finally it has made its intro in the Samsung Unpacked 2 Event at IFA 2014, Berlin.
Samsung have changed the complete look of Galaxy Note 4, it is now classier with minimum bezel display and leather back cover. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 looks somewhat similar to the Samsung Galaxy Alpha which has just been announced. On the sides of the phone there is an Aluminum frame which gives the device a great feel of premium material. Note 3 was introduced first with leather back cover but on its newer generation iteration, there is no faux leather cover instead Samsung have used a textured back cover which looks cool and feel premium.
Coming onto the hardware now, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the heck of a beast with its hardcore specification and features. You can call it the complete package and no other phone have been called as complete package as of now.
The new Galaxy Note 4 comes with a 5.7 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED Capacitive Display which gives you the sharpest detail with awesome contrast in colors on the display. The resolution on the phone is 1440 x 2560 pixels at 515 pixels per inch. It makes everything looks alive when take a closer look and everything is detailed with crisp and colored. On top of the display it has a Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection to save it from scratches.
Samsung has powered the new member of Note with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 SoC at the clock speed of 2.5Ghz Quad-core Krait 450 Processor, Adreno 420 GPU for 3D HD gaming. This processor is a beast in terms of performance and you could throw any app or game it will handle it all. It also boasts 3GB of RAM for completing the performance chart. This is going to give a hike in performance as RAM also does matter in terms of usage. There is a 32GB internal storage which can also be expanded upto 64GB via a microSD card.
Samsung have made the Note 4 in two different variants. One is the standard variant for all the countries and another one is for selected markets. The standard variant is the one which we just saw above this. The other variant comes with the Samsung’s Exynos Chipset. It is an Octa-core processor with two separate quad-core processors, A four Cortex-A57 is clocked at 1.9Ghz and another four Cortex-A53 is clocked at 1.3Ghz. The graphic processing unit on this version of Note 4 is a Mali T760 GPU which is quite powerful when it comes to rendering the graphics. Both the phablets have 3GB RAM onboard.The difference stands only when it comes to the 4G LTE-A Cat.6 which gives you the speed of 300Mbps and when compared to the Exynos variant it is a 4G LTE Cat.4 with 150Mbps speed.
The fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Note 4 is same as the one on the Samsung Galaxy S5. The one on the Note 4 gives you more features viz Screen Lock, Private Mode Authentication, Samsung and PayPal Account Verification along with these features there are more add ons with the new software, such as , a users can now assign apps and functions for registering fingerprint. Web Sign-in via fingerprint sensor is also possible with Note 4. There are all new and enhanced apps from Samsung which used to use the S Pen Stylus on the phone. The app like the S Note, Multi-Window are enhanced and made better for more intuitive experience. The Heart Rate Monitor which we saw on Samsung Galaxy S5 is the same one here on the Galaxy Note 4.
Coming on to the Camera, there is a 16.0 MP Camera with Sony IMX 240 Sensor which also gives you Optical Image Stabilization and there is a Dual LED Flash available too. The same Camera is used on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Exynos Version. The back Camera can record videos upto 4K resolution that too at 30fps. You also get different modes and features in the Camera app by which you can take pictures and record videos at different settings.
There is also a new feature added on the phablet which is called as Side Touch. What it does is, you can use the gestures to activate the Camera with the screen off. There are many new Camera modes which lets you select from the Selfie, Wide Selfie, Selfie Alarm and Create Gif file. The front camera is a 3.7 MP which is capable of taking pictures and record videos at 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4 gives you many connectivity features let’s see some what are they. It comes with 4G LTE-A Cat.6 and 3G HSPA+ network Connectivity which gives you the downlink speed upto 42Mbps. Other connectivity options are the Bluetooth v4.1 LE/ ANT+, WiFi 802.11 a/ b/g/n/ac (HT80) MIMO PCIe, WiFI Direct, DLNA, WiFi Hotspot and GPS with GLONASS.
Galaxy Note 4 has a 3220mAh battery for powering the device and Samsung promises the battery would last for about whole day without any problem. Let’s have a look at the specs in details.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is just announced so it would definitely take some time to make its intro in the retail market. Probably it will be starting to roll out in the market from October. There is no info on the price as well so far. Note 4 will be available in 4 different color choices, i.e Frost White, Bronze Gold, Charcoal Black and Blossom Pink.
