“Corning” the US manufacturer introduced its new type of protective layer known as ‘Corning Gorilla Glass 4’ with advanced material and toughest components for protecting the glass from breaking 80% of the times. Corning is famous for its Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection layer which almost every smartphone integrates it for scratch and other kind of resistance. Corning has started shipping to its mobile partners and customers globally to prevent the devices screen by getting shattered and making it more premium.
Gorilla Glass is used in over 1,500 separated products and over 3 billion devices altogether since 2007. Corning informed that it had repeatedly been testing every drop of test on different type of devices from a meter’s height, testing each time until it got to the final Gorilla Glass 4 recipe. The devices which were under Gorilla Glass 4 protection were surviving each drops, meanwhile other devices which had soda-lime glass on them were shattered in every tests as per company’s resolution.
Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is manufactured using Corning’s proprietary fusion draw process. It is highly durable and thinnest of quality and providing the clarity it possesses, for which the Gorilla glass is known while dramatically improving drop performance. Future Smartphones will have Corning Gorilla glass 4 for protection from scratch and sharp contact damage with daily drop break resistance, shouldn’t be a mess to think a lot of smartphones from dropping.
