Xiaomi today officially launched the successor of Redmi 1 in India, called Xiaomi Redmi 2. It will be available at Rs. 6,999 in flash sale via Flipkart start from March 24. If you are willing to get one Redmi 2, you must register yourself for the sale which has started now. Talking about the phone specifications, it seems pretty much better than the earlier one, and at such affordable price.
Xiaomi Redmi 2 comes out of the box with MIUI v6 based on Android 4.4 KitKat OS and has dual sim support. It sports a 4.7 inch HD IPS display protected with AGC Dragontrail Glass and offers 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Xiaomi has powered the phone with 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916 ) 64-bit processor that is really good and competitive for smartphone market. As per RAM and storage, there would be two variants in Redmi 2, as follows:
- 1GB RAM with 8GB internal memory, expandable upto 32GB using MicroSD Card
- 2GB RAM with 16GB internal memory, expandable upto 32GB using MicroSD Card
Furthermore, with Xiaomi Redmi 2 we get an 8 Megapixel rear camera having LED Flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture and Omnivision sensor allowing you to capture Full HD 1080p video recordings and of curse amazing pictures. We also get a 2 Megapixel front-facing camera capable to record 720P HD video recording. Just like impressive processing power and camera at budget price, Redmi 2 is also impressive in connectivity. It supports 4G LTE/3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, USB OTG and Bluetooth 4.0. The phone is running on 2200mAh battery.
