Microsoft’s next and the biggest Operating System, Windows 10 is already available for Windows insider since long time while Microsoft has now revealed that Windows 10 final will be officially available for free download to users having genuine Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 from July 29th. There has been a huge amount of hype regarding the new features of Windows 10 and people are so excited for it, that no one paid attention to the features that will be lost in the update.
Let us tell you about the features you will lose and the changes in the features when you upgrade to Windows 10:
Desktop Gadgets:
The desktop gadgets including clock, currency converter, weather, news and millions of other gadgets which were first introduced in 2007 along with Windows Vista, will be removed in Windows 10. So sadly there will be no desktop gadgets for users who update to Windows 10.
Windows Updates:
Now the Updates section in Windows 10 is rather astonishing than exciting. Windows 10 users will not be allowed to manage the installation of updates, the updates will be done automatically in Windows 10 Home. Users with Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise will still have an option to control updates.
No Windows Media Center:
Windows 10 will come without Windows Media Center. So all users who upgrade from Windows Home, Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8 Pro or Windows 8.1 Pro which all had Windows Media Centre will surely miss it if they upgrade to Windows 10.
Windows Live Essentials:
Fortunately there is not much change here in the Essentials and no Essentials will be removed. There is only one change, the OneDrive app that came along with Windows Essentials earlier will now be replaced by the inbox version of OneDrive for Windows 10.
Separate Software For Dvd Playback:
Microsoft recently stated “Watching DVDs requires separate software”. So users who upgrade to Windows 10 will require a separate software like VLC Media Player to play DVD’s. Microsoft had also stated later in a report” We will provide a free DVD Playback app in Windows 10 for Windows Media Center users”.
Floppy Drive:
Windows 10 will not come with an inbuilt floppy drive support. To use the floppy drive users will have to download the latest drivers from Windows Update or the hardware manufacturer’s website.
Updated Preinstalled Games:
The pre-installed games have been a vital part since a long time in Windows OS. Lately seen in Windows 7 games like Solitaire, Hearts and Minesweeper are set to be replaced by new versions named as Microsoft Solitaire Collection and Microsoft Minesweeper. Also one exciting addition is that the best-selling iOS and Android game CANDY CRUSH SAGA will come pre-installed in Windows 10.
