As per scheduled, Motorola has announced the new modular ‘Moto Z2 Play‘ with several new Moto Mods. It is the successor of last year’s Moto Z Play with upgraded hardware. Let’s take a close look at its specifications.
Hardware and Specs:
Packed inside a beautifully crafted 5.99 mm ultra-slim aluminum unibody design the new Moto Z2 Play has Water repellent nano-coating to protect it from rain. It comes with Fingerprint sensor integrated in the home button. The phone sports a 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection offering 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It is running on latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system and comes in Single sim and Dual SIM variants depending on region. Motorola has powered the successor with 2.2GHz GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 626 processor. It is further teamed up with Adreno 506 GPU.
As per RAM and storage, Z2 Play comes in two variants, i.e. 4GB LPDDR3 RAM with 64GB onboard storage memory and a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB storage memory. Both the variants has expandable memory slot supporting up to 2TB microSD card. As per photography, we get a 12 Megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Dual-Pixel Autofocus, Laser Auto focus and f/1.7 aperture that not only captures stunning pictures but also lets you record Ultra HD 4K video recording. For selfie fans, it carries a 5 Megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and dual-tone LED flash offering brighter pictures in low light conditioning as well.
Talking about connectivity, Moto Z2 Play supports 4G VoLTE which means you can use your Reliance Jio SIM with it. Furthermore, it also supports other important connectivity options including WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C. Motorola has backed up the device with 3000mAh battery having Turbo charge support which is said to be bring up the battery from 0 to 50% in just 20 minutes of charging.
New Moto Mods for Z2 Play:
The new Z2 Play got a new Moto Gamepad Mod which once connected with the phone, adds physical gaming controls for hardcore mobile gamers. Mobile gaming has now got new level.
Apart from this, Motorola has brought all new JBL SoundBoost 2 Mod for Z2 Play that offers up to 10 hours of playtime. The phone also got a new TurboPower Mod with built-in 15W fast charging. This can also charge up the device up to 50% in just 20 minutes. The Mod comes with 4 LED indicators and a button on the back.
Last but not the least. Moto Z2 Play gets new Moto Style Shells which has built-in Wireless Charging (up to 10W) support.
Pricing & Availability:
As said, Moto Z2 Play comes in two variants, the prices differs too.The base variant with 3GB RAM comes at the price of $499 that is approximately Rs. 32100, while the 4GB RAM variant costs $615 which is approximately Rs. 39700/- This variant is available in Brazil starting today at R$ 1,999. The phone will be available in three different color choices including Nimbus Blue, Fine Gold and Lunar Gray.
Talking about the new Mods, the Moto TurboPower Mod is priced at $79.99, Moto Style Shell with Wireless Charging is priced at $39.99, while the new JBL SoundBoost 2 Mod costs $79.99. And finally the Moto GamePad will cost us $79.99.
