Galaxy Core was one of the best seller in mid ranged devices which was launched last year. Following its success Samsung is bringing it back with improved and enhanced “Galaxy Core 2” . The phone will go on sale from May 20th 2014 in Russia at the price of 9990 Rubles which comes approximately Rs. 16,800/- in India. Galaxy Core 2 will be a Dual SIM phone running on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Samsung has powered the phone with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 512MB of RAM. Being upgraded it features a 4.5 inch touch screen display offering 800 x 480 Pixels resolution.
Samsung Galaxy Core 2 also has a 5 Megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and conferencing. As per storage the phone still comes with the same 4 GB internal memory and an external memory support upto 64GB using microSD card. As far as connectivity is concerned, it supports 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth. Samsung has powered the phone with 2000 mAh battery.
Russian users can get their hands on the phone from May 20th, while other countries are expected to get Galaxy Core 2 from June 1st because the global launch event is expected to be held in London on 1st June. We will update the global pricing and availability very soon.
