Amazon today announced two new tablets, Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10. Both these tablets will be start shipping from September 30th, however, they are now available for order on Amazon.
Amazon Fire HD 8
As its name suggests, the new Fire HD 8 comes with 8 inch IPS display offering 1280×800 pixels resolution at 189 ppi. It comes out of the box running Android Lollipop-based Fire OS 5. Amazon has powered up the tablet with GB of RAM coupled by Quad-Core MediaTek MT8135 ( 2 x 1.5 GHz + 2 x 1.2 GHz ) processor along with PowerVR G6200 GPU making it quite better in performance. The tablet comes with built-in 8GB and 16GB storage memory out of which only 4.5GB and 11.6GB is available for users access. However, there is an expandable memory slot provided supporting upto 128GB microSD.
Fire HD 8 comes with a 5 Megapixel rear camera supporting upto 1080p Full HD video recording. While at the front we get a 720p HD camera. As per connectivity the tablet supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth with support for A2DP and USB 2.0. The tablet comes with Battery life of up to 8 hours mixed use.
Amazon Fire HD 10
This is a bigger variant with very similar specification. It sports a 10 inch IPS display with 1280×800 pixels resolution and 149 ppi. Running on Android Lollipop-based Fire OS 5 it is also powered up with Quad-Core MediaTek MT8135 ( 2 x 1.5 GHz + 2 x 1.2 GHz ) processor accompanied bu y 1GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU.
The new Fire HD 10 comes in 16GB and 32GB storage variant out of which only 11.6GB and 26GB respectively is available for users. This can be expanded upto 128GB using microSD card. As per camera we get the same as Fire HD 8, i.e. 5 Megapixel at rear and a 720p HD front-facing camera. As per connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth with support for A2DP and USB 2.0. We get Battery life of up to 8 hours mixed use.
