A well known food and beverage company Pepsi has now enter in the smartphone market with the launch of their very first mobile, called ‘Pepsi Phone P1s‘. There are actually 2 variants of this phone, Pepsi P1 and Pepsi P1s. The only difference between them is P1s comes with FDD-LTE support for China Unicom, while rest of the specifications remain exactly same in both the phones.
Although the smartphones comes with Pepsi Logo and Branding at rear, but are manufactured by Shenzhen-based Scooby Communication Equipment Co. Both the smartphones are now available for order via crowdfunding campaign on jd.com in China. Interestingly the first order was priced at 499 yuan, i.e. approximately $78 or Rs. 5170, which is now over. The second set of 1000 order is now priced at 699 yuan, i.e. approximately $110 or Rs. 7250. Once this gets over, next order of 1000 units will start at 999 yuan, i.e. approximately $156 or Rs. 10340. And after this is over, it will be priced at 1299 yuan.
Great strategy by the company, i must say. However, Pepsi Phone P1s seems great in specifications but it started at $78 or Rs. 5170 making it one of the best affordable smartphone in the market. Talking about the specifications, both Pepsi Phone P1 and P1s sports a Full HD 5.5 inch 2.5D Curved Screen display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and it is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop Operating system with dido OS 6.1 on top of it. The phone is powered with 2GB RAM, 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and Mali 450-MP4 GPU. The phone has 16GB internal storage memory and supports microSD for expanding the storage.
Pepsi Phone P1 and P1s support Hybrid Dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.1 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. They also brings a 13 Megapixel camera with LED Flash at rear facing, while the front has 5 Megapixel shooter for Selfie fans. The device is backed up with 3000mAh battery and also has a Fingerprint sensor placed at rear facing for better security.
