Design & Packaging:
Huawei Honor 7 is a unibody model that has a 5.2inch IPS display on the front. This huge screen brings amazing screen resolution and smooth touch interface. Huawei Honor 7 has a classy design. It features a sleek metal enclosed shiny body that comes in three different colors. It is a huge phone, the device has a unibody design.
The battery is not removable. There might be some specifications changes on different models. At the bottom there are three navigation keys that are integrated in the UI. The phone has a very smooth touch quality due to it’s amazing hardware support. At the top side, lies the sensor and a 8MP upgraded selfie camera. Screen lock and volume rocker is on the right side with a dedicated camera key on the left with slots.
This device has a dual sim slot where one sim slot will be used as a SD card reader if you are not using two Sims. This is a innovative idea here. By default all of us will he have an expandable storage, so the sim slot will be occupied with that, Audio jack is on the top with micro usb port on the bottom.
This device has upgraded 20 MP camera on the back with fingerprint sensor just below that. It is a very impressive device, but the body of the device looks bulky to me, the reason can be less slim factor on the model. There is a mini version of this phone which is more impressive, but it is yet to release. Overall the phone is good and looks like an expensive model.
Display:
For a phablet, display is the most essential component that cannot be ignored. Here being a costly model Huawei is able to manage the display quality quite well. The 5.2 inch screen on the front is a IPS LCD display, this one produces a maximum resolution of 1920×1080 @424ppi. That is not really bad according to me. But the device does not have any kind of extra protection.
The specifications too does not reveal much, this phone will have a Gorilla Glass cover or not is not known to us. Because today, high end phones should have a extra protection over the screen, which is essential. It lets the user to use the device roughly without worrying much about it breaking. The device runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and has its own custom Emotion UI 3.1 skin. The custom skin helps the device to work better, due less bloatware.
Camera Quality:
Camera is another important factor for those buyers who want to buy a costly phone, like we have Sony Xperia Z series with amazing high megapixel camera. The device has a 20MP camera. This camera let you to record videos and click picture at a very high resolution.
The camera can produce 4992 x 3744 pixels. 4096 x 2160 4K resolution, is the actual 4K resolution that is not yet introduced in many mobile phone, but Huawei Honor 7 looks more worth in terms of camera. The front camera is 8MP, which will help you in taking good selfies. Dual tone LED flash on the back, which helps you to take bright pictures.
Hardware & Performance:
Huawei Honor 7 runs on the latest Android OS, v5.0 (Lollipop) operating system and as per its hardware this device will also be able to handle all upcoming Lollipop updates. The device is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 935 Chipset. HiSilicon Kirin 935 Chipset is considered to be faster than Snapdragon 805.
The chipset adds a Cortex A53 Quad Core 2.2Ghz processor on the device with 3GB RAM. It is not like an Octa Core process that commonly is used on budget phones with a MediaTek chipset. It is a lot more powerful than that and also stable. With that, the device also has as Mali-T628 GPU for better gaming output. The device will come in 16GB and 64GB variation and you can expand that up to 12GB.
Battery Life:
Huawei Honor 7 has a 3100 mAh battery. Being a phablet the battery life is not much high expected. 3100 mAh is a huge battery but if you use the phone a lot for gaming then you won’t get much in return. HD games eats power like a lot.
But on optimized usage, I think more than 7 hours of battery is accepted. And if it comes to talk time only, then the battery is even better. Being a Smartphone, it is obvious that we will not use the phone only for calling purpose, Internet usage is one of the most primary thing we do.
Conclusion:
This device is not yet released in India, so the exact price is just an assumption. But it is already sold in the international market. The cost is on the basis of its Chinese price that is approx Rs.19000. Huawei Honor 7 looks very promising high end model to me. With fingerprint sensor it offer you an extra layer of security. Hardware point of view the phone looks good to me. The price factor is an important part here which actually matters a lot when you are buying in India.
