Google has just updated its Camera app to version 3.1 that not only brings the Android 6.0 Marshmallow UI, but also it is the same camera used in latest Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. Obviously the Camera app comes with several new features we have seen on those new smartphones. This could probably break somebody’s heart who bought spending such huge number of dollars for the camera features.
Anyways, talking about the UI, with the new Google Camera 3.1 you can now simply swipe left and right to change to Video and Picture modes. The front and Back camera switching button is placed next to the shutter button while the quick link to the Photos app is on the other side. Additional settings can be accessed comfortably from the slide out menu.
Now coming to the features, the camera app brings the Auto HDR+ mode as well to some smartphones, including last years Nexus 6. Also switching from HDR mode is really fast. While recoding a video, you can tap on the object where you want to focus in the video which was not in the earlier case. In this update, you can now also take unlimited pictures once you disable the SmartBurst, unlike previous versions.
Since i mentioned only Nexus devices, dont get confused. Google Camera v3.1 is available for any brand smartphone. The only condition is, the phone should be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. If you are having, dont need to wait. Although the update is not available in every region via PlayStore, you can still download the APK from this page and install it manually. Download files across this website takes just One Click.
