Samsung has finally launched the rugged ‘Active’ variant of its latest flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge like they always do with their new flagships. It is the new Samsung Galaxy S7 Active which will be available from 10th June from AT&T $26.50 per month on contract. As per specifications, the S7 Active seems very similar to Galaxy S7 except the rugged design and bigger battery. Rest all specs remains same.
It features the same 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display protected with Gorilla Glass 4 protection for better and longer durability. The screen offers 2560×1440 pixels resolution, which can also be called 2K display. Samsung has powered Galaxy S7 Active with Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 processor coupled up with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 530 GPU making the phone powerful not only from outside, but inside too, whether it is performance or multitasking. The S7 Active comes out of the box running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. It has fingerprint scanner with the Home button for extra security. being rugged, the phone comes with IP68 rating making it Water and Dust resistance. As per storage, we get 32GB built-in memory which can be expanded upto 200GB using microSD card. As per photography, S7 Active carries the same cameras as we saw in Galaxy S7. It has a 12 Megapixel primary shooter with LED Flash and a 5 Megapixel at front-facing.
As per connectivity, the phone supports all major connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS with GLONASS, USB 2.0 and NFC. Samsung backed up the Galaxy S7 Active with 4000mAh battery which is bigger compared to galaxy S7’s 3000mAh battery and S7 Edge’s 3600mAh battery.
