Xolo Smartphone’s are slowly gaining a bit pace in the mobile world. Recently Xolo has released Xolo Q1010i. This is a better version of Xolo Q1010. There is a big difference between both. You can simply assume that if you are using Xolo Q1010 then you are having a bit outdated phone. A major difference lies between the camera. Xolo Q1010i gives you a good 8MP Sony EXMOR R Sensor camera that makes your photography experience lot more better than other budget phone. This is the first upgrade in the camera part. And then comes the performance which is very much near to Xolo Q1010. It is right to stay that in terms of design and output the phone does not carry much difference.
Xolo Q1010i is just a better version that bring more power camera. We will checkout the device in more detail to get the exact difference here. Xolo Q1010i comes for Rs.12500 on flipkart. While the older edition Xolo Q1010 is sold for Rs.12000. Just by adding Rs.500 more you getting a bit better phone. Anyone who is looking for a decent budget mobile should once checkout Xolo Q1010i. Design and Packaging:
Xolo Q1010i has sturdy design. It looks looks nice when you hold it in your hand. This phone as nice body. Xolo has used a thick plastic material that makes the phone a bit rich in looks. It can be counted under a strong body design. The phone has a many similarity when we compare Xolo Q1010 with Xolo Q1010i in terms of looks. So those how are using or had already seen Xolo Q1010 then they can understand the difference very easy. This phone is not very thick. You can hold is well. The body has a rough finish that makes it less slippery. The side consist of metal rim which add a classy look on the phone. I a m really impressed with the design here. But the body is not waterproof. A good think Xolo did is used a good build element. That justify the price quiet easily.
It has three capacitive buttons at the bottom. Xolo Q1010i offers a 5inch hd screen on the front side. This screen cover the maximum part with capacitive keys are the bottom. The front part also has a 2MP camera which is regular and give you average image quality. Sensors are simply placed on the top side with camera. This 2MP camera produce good photos when you are outdoor. The power button sit on the right side. You can access that with one hand also. There is a micro usb port at the bottom. At the left a volume rocker is placed. This both keys are easily accessible.
A 3.5m audio jack is placed on the top side. Xolo Q1010i has a nice thin body that fit well in your hand and pocket. You can operate the entire device with one hand and with simple swipe. 8MP camera is placed on the backside which is supported by a led flash. At the bottom lies the speaker. The back cover is removable but the battery is locked. It is a 2250mah battery inside. The compartment is sealed. There are two micro sim slot with microsd card slot on the backs. Xolo Q1010i has a good body design and also a nice key placement. You can hold the phone easily when you are moving. It does not fell from your hand. The build material use is quiet nice.
Display / Screen :
The Xolo Q1010i comes with a 5 inchHD display. This screen provide you a nice 1280x720pixel resolution. Watching videos on it is quiet great. HD videos work really well. The screen is nice but not very great. It has a bit issue when you in sunlight. But when you are indoors you can see a crisp quality display on the screen. Due to good pixel density viewing angle is also great. I found the screen bright. If you keep the brightness to maximum then you can also easily use the phone outside. I will say the display is good but not great. It will wrong say that this phone has the best display under budget series. There are few more models that I had tested recently which offer a better viewing angle and more amazing screen quality.
Hardware and Performance :
The Xolo Q1010i runs on quad core process. It has as 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and 1GB ram. For gaming it is supported by 500 MHz Mali 400MP2 GPU. This entire hardware specification to some extent fall at the budget line. IT is not fair to stay that this is really great or amazing. But good to some extent. You can run various applications on the same. It is ideal for multi-tasking. The credit here goes to good gpu and 1GB ram. When I saw the device first I thought it will have a 512MB ram. And that would be a disaster.
Performance on multiple apps and games is average. A few time the phone lag in between when I tried to play games and on the same time installed few app in the background. A good part of The Xolo Q1010i is that it comes with a 8TB internal storage. You can extend more by adding a memory card. Around 6GB storage is provided for the users to use. Still enough to use the phone without memory card. Games like Subway Surfer or Angry Bird works fine. But a few hd car racing games where very slow. I will not recommend the device for gaming.
Camera Quality:
The Xolo Q1010i has a 8MP primary camera which is supported by Sony EXMOR R sensor. This makes the device a bit better compared to other phone. It gives you crisp image quality. The camera is supported by LED flash through which you can take more better photos in dark. You can record a full hd video at 30fps through the camera. It is weird to find that when you record videos they are stored in 3gp format. This is a low video resolution file format.
Quad core cpu is able to give you fast image processing. When you click images are generated really fast. In daylight images are more clear. There is less noise in it. But in dark image can be grainy due to lack of good light source. The led flash help really less. You can try using some camera mode through which you can gain a bit more benefit in the image. Video recording is the strongest part of this phone. Good storage allow you to take long videos instantly. The camera however was disappointing.
Multimedia and Gaming :
Xolo Q1010i is a good multimedia phone. A kind of nice solution for your private entertainment. Speaker quality is good when you are in a room. You can listen your audio quiet clearly on the same. For getting the best audio output you can use a high quality earphone. That one that comes in the package offer you quiet average output. For gaming it has enough hardware. But for mid range gaming. I am not going to recommend this phone for hd games.
The phone will heat up a bit when you are playing games for hours. Due to a low graphic card in the phone, games are restricted. Mali 400MP2 is a bit low end gpu. You can play all casual game on it and few high end game which are nicely optimized to work with low end gpu. The device comes with Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS. And as per the specs it can also run Kitkat. But we have to wait back until Xolo finally announce a official update. It comes with few pre-installed apps like Xolo Battery Saver application. You can turn it on to optimize your phone battery output.
Battery Performance:
Xolo Q1010i has really impressed me in terms of battery output. It has a nice 2250mAH battery that is long lasting for an entire day. Even if you are using the phone for gaming or for watching video you can get more than 7 hrs of constant usage on the same. And if you are using it on 2G internet then it is more. This is one of the greatest benefit here. 2250mAh battery is great enough to work for entire day and give you a long lasting output. Xolo has done a really great job by providing such a bit battery in the device. You can save up a bit more by turning on the Xolo Battery Saver application. This app automatically turn off things which are not needed.
Conclusion :
Overall Xolo Q1010i is a good budget phone. It give you a nice hardware config through which you can run various application and games on the same It also has a great battery life. The phone is sold for Rs.12500 on flipkart which its older version is sold for Rs.120100. The good part here is that the new version has a more powerful body design. It is strong and it has amazing quality. The camera is not a regular one. 8MP camera is supported by Sony EXMOR R 8MP sensor which increase the image quality much higher. 5inch hd display fulfill your need of big size touch screen image. The phone is also capable of giving you a good gaming output if you are not really interested in playing hd games.
