We have already heard lots of rumours and leaks regarding the Sony’s “Next-gen console” PlayStation 5 and took it with tonnes of salt. But thankfully, Mark Cerny, who is a lead system architect of PS5 has finally cleared some air regarding the features of their next-gen console. In this article, we are providing the 5 best PS5 features that are now officially revealed and confirmed. Here are the PS5 features you want to know about.
PlayStation 5 supports the original PSVR (Virtual Reality)
It is now official that the PS5 will support the next level Virtual Reality Gaming. “I won’t go into the details of our VR strategy today beyond saying that VR is very important to us and that the current PSVR headset is compatible with the new console”, said Cerny when asked about the PSVR capabilities. This gives us a sign that a PSVR headset is also set to launch alongside this ability.
PS5 will come with a 3D Audio system
A good sound system is much needed to experience better gaming environment. Keeping this in mind, Sony has provided the same in its PS5. Among the features, this one is the most exciting for us. PS5 will come along a 3D Audio system which will take the audio experienceto a whole different level.
As per Cerny, “As a gamer it’s been a little bit of a frustration that audio did not change too much between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. With the next console the dream is to show how dramatically different the audio experience can be when we apply significant amounts of hardware horsepower to it.”
PS5 will come along a powerful CPU and GPU
Cerny has now confirmed that the PS5 will have the most powerful hardware. It will come along a CPU based on third generation of AMD’s Ryzen series of processors that will deliver eight cores along with firm’s new 7nm Zen 2 micro-architecture. PS5 will also include a Strong Navi GPU capable of ray tracing. All these features will result in higher speed and incredible action of PS5.
PS5 will support 8K graphics
The next-gen console will support 8k graphics and target 4K with 60 frames per second as a base. It will gradually result in better resolution. Cerny himself confirmed this in an interview, “the next-gen console will support 8K graphics”.
PS5 will be equipped with a powerful Solid State Drive (SSD)
Brace yourself; your games will load faster than ever! For storage, PS5 will come along a solid state drive. Games will load and run much faster than on a regular Hard disk drive. Cerny demonstrated this by using PS5 dev kit, it loaded the exclusive game Spider-Man a18-times faster than a PS4 console, the game was ready to play in just 0.8 seconds.
So, this was all about the features of the eagerly awaited PlayStation 5. All these features lead us to a conclusion that PS5 going to be a tough competition to the XBOX new launch.
