Huawei Ascend G6 Review

Camera Quality:

Interesting section of the review because we have seen that camera is the major hardware of the phone prone to rapid innovation. Moving from VGA resolution to Megapixel more than 40 is just marvelous job by phone manufacturers.Ascend has managed to provide its latest flagship with 8MP camera on the back and 5MP camera on the front. Rear camera is capable of shooting bright images under satisfying lighting condition. Compare to other smartphones Ascend G6 managed to produce some vibrant and amazing output.

HDR mode captured image was also very responsive and turned to be the best against other smartphones in this race. It has other camera settings like Smart, Beauty, Panorama, Effect and Sound & Shot modes to choose from for best shot every time. 8MP camera shooter also allows you to capture HD video as well. Front camera is installed to fill the same feature of video chat and video conferencing but in more effective manner as front camera is gifted with 5MP camera shooter.

Hardware and Performance:

Hardware of most of the mediocre is horsing on MediaTek chipset and processor but this time Ascend has planned something else for its fan followers. Ascend has installed Snapdragon chipset in its latest flagship which we already encountered in Motorola Moto G. Configuration also resembles with Moto G smartphone which states that Ascend has launched G6 to outclass Moto G market.

1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1GB RAM is sufficient to cater its user with heavy multitasking task and efficient multiprocessing of the program.GPU is up to the mark to process all the gaming apps easily, definitely this won’t be so effective compare to Samsung S5 or Apple iPhone 5S but manages to handle mediocre games with ease. Coming to the storage of this phone then it is given with 8GB internal memory and is further expandable with the help of memory slot given in the phone.

Software and UI:

Ascend G6 falls back in this section when compared to Moto G. Ascend G6 is running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean whereas Moto G is running on latest Android OS. UI is simple and effective but Ascend should promise its user to provide updates via OTA.

Emotion UI will take care of the looks and feel of the OS but UI of the phone is still stuck with 2.0 Lite version of Emotion rather than new UI. Limited themes is been provided by Ascend and if needed more it can be downloaded from Play Store. All we can say Jelly Bean is not updated version to be seen in any smartphone released in recent times.

Battery Life:

Ascend G6 is hovering with 2,000 mAh battery which is another drawback for Ascend G6. It should have ranging between 2,000 to 2,500 mAh which is average strength of battery seen in mid-range segment.Ascend managed to provide good backup with such battery strength, you can stay with your smartphone for more than 10 hours with normal use but if you are heavy user then this phone is capable to last for atleast 7 hours. Overall it is a good backup provided in the mid-range phone.

Conclusion:

Mediocre phone is very carefully designed because users are very keen to get more features and specs in less pricing. Ascend has managed to fulfill most of the requirement essential in mid-range smartphones. It has average display which should have been more crisp and clear but camera section score good ratings.

Hardware of the smartphone scores good with the help of Snapdragon processor. Battery of the phone is good and provides lasting backup for their users. All we can say it is good smartphone with appropriate pricing and it is capable to drag the world’s attention after its release.
