Lately, there has been a rumor going around that some celebrities including Idris Elba, are getting paid to claim that they tested positive for Coronavirus.
He has also been shamed for even being able to take the test due to COVID-19 tests shortage, and people claim that it is the case because he’s rich.
“It shouldn’t be about whether rich or poor gets it, everyone should be able to get a test for sure,” said in his defense.
“I think that the negativity around ‘test shaming’ is, like, counterproductive, I don’t see what people get out of that,” Idris added.
He quickly denied the theory of getting paid to lie about the positive test results.
“That’s stupid. That’s the quickest way to get people sick. There’s no benefit to me and Sabrina sitting here saying we’ve got it when we ain’t got it. I don’t even understand the logic of that,” he explained.
Idris Elba tested positive for COVID-19 on the 16th of March, and a few days later, so did his wife. The two confirmed that they are both feeling fine for now, without any complications, and hoping for the best.
