This song is a combination of spontaneity and personal experience. The name came about while Scott was talking to a friend. He immediately sent the instrumental and a friend, not knowing the context, suggested the word “Delulu”. That’s how the name took shape. Through this song, the British songwriter elaborated on the theme of unrequited love.
“The title “Delusional” actually came from a friend of mine. I sent her the instrumental, and without giving her context on my situation, she suggested doing something with the word ‘Delulu’. This was one of those moments where the universe gives you an olive branch, as you begin to see things fall into alignment”, said Scott.
This acts as the follow-up to his 2023 single “Euphoric” which features Ashley Alisha.
Sound gets stuck in your head
He’s really talented at making music that gets stuck in your head! The lyrics tell a fun story and the beat makes you want to dance. Scott said the idea for “Delusional” came from his own experiences with love. Sometimes when we like someone a lot, it can seem like they like us too when really they don’t. Scott wanted to flip the story and show both sides of what’s really happening.
Creating this song helped Scott feel better during a tough time in his life. Recently he lost a good friend and has been sad.
