At the scheduled event, Oppo has announced its two new Flagship smartphones including Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus. Both the phones come with impressive specifications, but most interesting is its huge 16 Megapixel Selfie shooter. We will talk about the same later, first coming to the price and availability. Oppo R9 is priced at 2799 Yuan, i.e. $430 or Rs. 28,750 approximately and is up for pre-order in China which will start shipping from March 24th in Rose Gold and Golden colors. While the bigger variant Oppo R9 Plus is priced at 3299 Yuan, i.e. approximately $410 or Rs. 33,850 which will be available from April 12th in the same color options.
Talking about Oppo R9, it comes out of the box running Android 5.1 Lollipop with ColorOS 3.0 and supports Hybrid Dual SIM. It features a Full HD 5.5 inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and has a Fingerprint scanner integrated with the physical Home Button. Oppo has powered R9 with Octa-core (4 x 2.0 GHz + 4 x 1.0 GHz) MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 700MHz Mali T860MP2 GPU making the phone a powerhouse in performance and multitasking.
As said, Oppo R9 comes with an amazing 16 Megapixel front facing Selfie camera having f/2.0 aperture and 78.1-degree wide-angle lens allowing you to capture stunning selfies. The primary camera is 13 megapixel with f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens, LED Flash and 80.6-degree wide-angle lens. You can also record Ultra HD 4K videos using the same. Users dont even need to worry about the storage because the phone carries internal 64GB storage memory and also supports up to 128GB microSD card for expansion.
On other hand, Oppo R9 Plus features a 6 inch Full HD AMOLED display offering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and is running the same Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 3.0. Oppo has powered the bigger variant with Octa Core Snapdragon 652 (620) processor (Quad 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.2GHz A53 CPUs) paired up with 4GB of RA and Adreno 510 GPU from which we can surely expect smoother performance and multitasking.
The phone supports Hybrid Dual SIM and Fingerprint sensor too, just like the Oppo R9. As per storage, this comes in two variants, 64GB and 128GB built-in memory and both support MicroSD up to 128GB. As per camera, we get the same 16 Megapixel front facing Selfie camera having f/2.0 aperture and 78.1-degree wide-angle lens. While the primary camera is bit bigger than R9, i.e. 16 Megapixel with Sony IMX298, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens and LED Flash. The R9 Plus is backed up with 4120mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge.
