With a worldwide release of Devil May Cry 5, the flaws of a game also start floating all over the forums. The game is no doubt superb and far better than all its peers, but there some Error Codes and issues which are troubling the gamers a lot. There are series of bugs, specially on the PC version. Such as DMC 5 Crashing on load. As soon as the game starts, after few seconds it crashes down leaving no option. In addition to this when they try to fix this, Error Codes 6828 pops up on the screen.
By digging deeper into issue users complained that when they try to load the game, it would start loading but after couples of seconds it stops and crashed immediately. A steam forum thread says that if the user tries to debug the problem then a pop-up screen will appear with a message saying,
“An unhandled win32 exception occurred in DevilMayCry5.exe [6828].”
Its not the problem with just one or two, but many DMC 5 gamers. There doesn’t seem to be any official fix so far but the good news is, a couple of gamers had already figured out fix on their own while troubleshooting the same. Discussing the solution on the forum they revealed how they did it, by changing the DirectX file in configuration files.
One of the members of Steam Community named jkot explained how to fix the issue, which is as follows:
- First go to the steam folder, and then click on steam apps
- Now click on Common and then select Devil May Cry 5
- Subfolder you will find “dmc5config.ini”. Open it.
- Now look for “Target platform”, there you find DirectX 12
- Replace it with DirectX 11 and make sure to save the changes.
- Restart the game.
That’s it. The error code 6828 should be gone now. However, it is not necessary that this trick will work with every user. You have to try your luck with it. But this has helped many so far.
Most of the gamers are wishing Capcom to take a look upon the forum if they are paying attention to this major issue then for sure they are working on the solution and soon you will get them a perfect and permanent fix of this issue.
