According to various media reports, Prince Charles tested positive for COVID-19. At the moment, Queen Elizabeth’s eldest son is resting in self-isolation at his Clarence House in Scotland.
Charles, who is seventy-one-years old at the moment, is working as usual and doesn’t feel any of the coronavirus symptoms. Doctors who examined him claim that the earliest date at which he could have contracted the virus was March 13th. He saw the Queen the day before, which suggests that the Queen couldn’t have contracted COVID-19 from him.
Since March 12th, Prince Charles didn’t make any public appearances, but he did have private meetings.
According to sources close to the Buckingham Palace, her Majesty the Queen is feeling well and is following advice from the doctors regarding the possibility that she contracted coronavirus. At the moment, it is not known if the Queen was tested for coronavirus.
Prince Charles was tested early on Monday, with results becoming available on Tuesday. The Prince tested positive after he displayed some of the symptoms associated with coronavirus during the weekend. It is believed that his condition will not deteriorate, and full recovery is expected in the coming days.
In recent weeks Prince Charles had many public obligations, and because of this, it is not possible to know from whom did he contracted the virus. Upon feeling the signs of coronavirus, it was reported that Prince felt unwell but that the symptoms he had were mild and that there’s no reason for panic.
His partner Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall, is also in self-isolation and will continue to be in the following two weeks. She’s currently at her residence at Birkhall.
The pair traveled there together during the weekend with a small number of staff, which will remain at their disposal during the days of their isolation.
Interestingly all members of the Royal Family were together at the Commonwealth Day service on March 9th.
