A Chinese company is coming up with many new flagships recently and one of the Chinese companies is Xiaomi, who is just keen to rule the market at quick span of time. Xiaomi is quick learner and within short span of time it had read the market trend and accordingly presented its flagship at regular interval. Xiaomi started with smartphones and soon after the launch of the smartphones they have switched their concentration to tablet section to seek global attention. Xiaomi’s flagship was admired by the people all over globe, so Xiaomi has made its step to launch its first ever tablet in the market.
If we closely relate Xiaomi with other manufacturers then you will definitely land up with conclusion that Xiaomi should be called as Chinese Apple Company. Xiaomi smartphones is sooner or later associated with some of the smartphones in the market. We are keen to know that whether their tablets section features is inspired by already existing device or its completely new surprise by Xiaomi. Tablet released by Xiaomi is MiPad 7.9 which is said to have good features with respect to the price but whatever be the company’s claim, we are definitely going to explore each and every section in detail to know about the pros and cons associated with it.

Design and Packaging:
Xiaomi doesn’t want its first ever tablet performs flop show in market and so to avoid this design section of the tablet is inspired by hot favorite Apple iPad mini 2. Stellar design and portable body of iPad mini 2 is replicated in Xiaomi’s new tablet. It resembles lot with iPad mini 2 but has little difference which is not visible while viewed at glance. Only design is inspired from Apple rest the body material and rigidity of the tablet is kept simple according to the price of the tablet. Major difference between iPad mini 2 and Mi Tab 7.9 is built material and premium looks. Apple iPad looks as premium device but Mi Tab falls in lower end tablet. Mi Tab sits at 202 x 135.4 x 8.5mm but compare to iPad mini 2 its little taller, wider and thicker. If we talk about the weight of Mi tab then compare to iPad mini 2 it is 29 grams heavier.
Body structure is given as unibody with rounded edges and covered with plastic back panel. All the corners of the tablet are rounded well to enhance the portability of the tablet. Front of the device is fully covered with Gorilla Glass 3 with no physical buttons below the screen. Gorilla Glass 3 on the front look stunning same like Apple iPad mini 2. Above the display is given with 5MP front camera and notification LED light and capacitive touch buttons below the screen.
Back of the Xiaomi’s tablet is flat plastic body with curved on all end. Plastic back panel is glossy which attracts finger print easily, top left of the back is hovered with rear camera of the tablet and bottom of the back is occupied with branding of “Mi” and below it has two loudspeaker grilled on both the bottom sides of the tablet. Sides of the tablet is smartly featured with essential hardware buttons like Volume rocker buttons and Power button on the right side of the tablet whereas left side of the tablet is given by microSD card slot to expand the memory of the tablet. Head of the tablet has 3.5mm audio jack for headphones or earphones and bottom of the tablet has microUSB port to connect charger or setup connection via USB cable.
Display / Screen:
Recently launched tablet has passed full HD resolution and now all the tablet with good display resolution is given with resolution more than 1080p. Display of the tablet is very much familiar with Apple iPad mini 2 with same screen size of 7.9-inch with resolution of 1536X2048 pixel and 324ppi. Pixel density of Xiaomi tablet is very compact and packed ppi produces good viewing angles and sharp display with fine color reproduction.
In addition to this, Xiaomi has made use of IPS technology which adds more enhanced display in its tablet. Xiaomi has made use of RGB matrix which is known for producing good display output. Brightness is great challenge in every device but Xiaomi has answered this challenged very well by providing 502 nits brightness. Using this tablet under bright light will be easy but only challenge is that screen of the tablet is reflective which may result in difficult viewing of screen. Display of the new flagship by Xiaomi is good and outputs satisfactory results.
Software and UI:
Xiaomi tablet has introduced heavily customized Android 4.4.4 kitkat MIUI version. New tablet by Xiaomi is given by MIUI version v.4.8 which is specially launched for its tablet section. News has been around that Xiaomi is all set to launch MIUI v.6 version but it is still under testing so not sure that tablet will come with latest customized MIUI version. MIUI resembles a lot with Apple’s iOS but operations on MIUI skin is smooth and lags free, as the tablet is meant to the best for gaming and it delivers smooth and glitch free gaming.
