Google again brings out some new and amazing products under its new ‘Android One’ series. You might be wondering what actually it is. Is it a new product line by Google that will contain devices like Motorola’s budget models or something else. Well here Google wants to cut the cost in production and has tied up with many Indian mobile manufacturers. This consists of Micromax, Karbonn and Spice. So that it can offer you some best affordable models with the latest Android operating system.

This is a huge campaign by Google for India, and I was really surprised to find such amazing budget phones. It is quiet surprising to find that Google is really thinking about giving valuable product for our price conscious market. After Moto E, which was a hit budget phone, Android One is going to take over many brands. It is planned long before by Google. Google has provisioned a budget of Rs.100 crores on Android One advertising and marketing. So you can just imagine that this is just a start.

Today there are three budget models that are sold online with Android One. They are Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1 & Spice Dream UNO. I had posted a comparison chart below with features and cost. You can find that all these phones bring out identical features and the latest Android KitKat operating system. Another surprising thing here is that Google is not tying up with popular brands like Samsung, Sony or HTC. Instead Google is more peculiar about giving out budget phones and for that it needs to work with the emerging brands.

Keeping the price as primary factor, it might have pushed Google to work on the budget phone. And it is really awesome phones. From no angle you get an outdated device. The cost of all the models of first series lies under Rs.7000. In the coming time we will be seeing a lot of budget, mid range and high end phone under this series. I want to give you the benefits of Android one also with that. So that it will help you to buy phone under this new series.

Most of you are wondering what really changes with Android One. The phone model looks exactly same to other budget phones. But there is something that makes these devices special compare to others. And that is worth to discuss. First of all when it comes to budget models, then you get an outdated operating system and bit low end hardware. These things are being removed. You get a quad core powered phone coupled with 1GB ram and loaded with the latest android operating system.

Google is going to take care about the upcoming future updates on these models. The manufacturers like Micromax will only have to work on the production part. That means they will take care about the hardware, while Google will take care about the software and OTA updates. In future if there is Android 4.5 or higher version you will get that delivered on your phone as well. Which is not at all possible on other budget phone unless and until you root and flash the rom.

Google’s motive is to target cities of developing countries, where people have buying power but it is limited. Most of the electronics products that we have in India are imported. That increases the cost. And if Google is already producing phone with local brands, then it gets a lot more cheaper. And also you get as decent after sales service. So here having budget phone with good features is one of the biggest benefits. And above all you are also getting a phone with decent battery life. To work Google would really need quality. And the manufacturers are working well.
