Xiaomi Mi 3 and Xiaomi Mi 4 are the devices that support the Mi Band. The company also added the Redmi Note 4G in the supported list of Xiaomi Mi Band. The Xiaomi Mi Band works with all the Android smartphones running Android 4.4 KitKat OS. It pairs perfectly and works perfectly with the other Android devices. The Mi Band app has to be installed on your smartphone device to connect and share the data from your Mi Band to the smartphone.
The Mi Band also supports a unique feature of unlocking the phone without password where you just have to take your phone near your smartphone on which you have enabled the feature. But this unlocking feature will only work with the Mi 3 and Mi 4. The app that syncs the data, only works with Android OS.
Performance:
The Xiaomi Mi Band keep track on your sleep and also it counts your steps. The Mi Band tracks you sleep automatically and didn’t need to configure the sleep time manually. The App for your Mi Band can be downloaded from the Mi Shop but the app that you download comes in Chinese language and if you want to download the English version for your app, you can download the app from the MiUi Forums.
The Mi Band use the Bluetooth 4.0 LE for connecting it to other devices and at the same time the Mi Band firmware updates get updated when its connected over the Bluetooth. The Mi Band gets connected to the Bluetooth of your phone once the Bluetooth is turned on.
When you do the first setup or the initial setup, the Mi Band will ask for your details like the gender, height, weight and age. You also need to have a Mi account setup so that your data for the steps and sleep activity will be stored on the cloud of Mi account. Whenever you open the app, the Mi Band will automatically sync the data to the app.
Fitness Tracking:
The App can track your steps and also you can set an aim on which you can work out and achieve it and then again the next day, you can try to reach for the aim and break your records. In this way, you can set specific goals and would achieve the goal or your aim that you want to complete with these Mi Band.
The Mi Band has three led lights that glow when you reach your aim and it works in a very simple way. The first led will lit when you have reached the 1/3rd of your aim, the second led will lit up when you will reach the 2/3rd of the aim, then the two lights will lit and then finally when you will reach for your aim and would have achieve what goal you wanted to complete then all the three lights will lit and the Mi Band will start vibrating.
Sleep Tracking:
The Sleep tracking feature on the Mi Band automatically keeps the track on your sleep and it only works when you are wearing it. You can also edit the timing or settings if you feel the timings should be changed then editing them manually is also possible. According to the movements, Mi Band keep the track of your sleep and it also track whether your sleep is a deep sleep or a light sleep and also it tracks your awake timings which are actually based on the movements you make. These sleep data can be easily synced with the app on the phone and the sleep tracking the very similar way of the fitness tracking.
The fitness tracker on the device tracks your movements with the accelerometer that is installed on the device. If the band is not wore by you and if it is kept at a place for a time then the Mi Band thinks that you are asleep and count or tracks the data as sleeping. The Mi Band is a great product and it will be just great if you wear it all the time, but still there would be some chances that the user cannot just wear the band all the time.

Mi Band also makes you wake up at the time you have set on the phone for alarm. When your alarm goes on, then the Mi band starts vibrating with the built in vibration motor and these vibrations are too strong and easily could be noticed.

Coming on to the battery life, the Mi Band has a good 41mAh battery which runs quite great. The Mi Band could probably last more than a month with full charge as the battery life is just great on this device. The notification options on the Mi Band are also available for your smartphone that if you don’t have a reach for your phone, your Mi band would tell you if there is a call or something with the LED lights that the Mi band has.

Xiaomi Mi Band is a good product for fitness tracking. It has good battery life and works about and over a month on a single full charge. It is the most affordable fitness band in the market with just the price of 79 Yuan or $13. The band has multiple color options to choose from. Xiaomi Mi Band don’t come with a display but do all the work that a band needed to do. It has the very helpful LED lights that would lit when there is a Call or also when you tracking the fitness activity.
Only thing which is the issue is the availability of the product, the Xiaomi Mi Band is only available in China as if now. The LED Lights function could be improved a bit with providing more notifications details by removing the exception of LED will lit only when there is a call. Lastly it’s a good budget device for anybody who wants to track the fitness detail, the price is just right and couldn’t be better than that. Grab one, if you can!
