I love playing games on my phone. Normally I play all different kinds of casual games: Match-3 games, hyper-casual games that you can play without thinking, idle games, design games, and racing games… there’s no type of game I don’t play! Lately, I’ve found my newest passion – cooking games! These games are WAY more fun than cooking in real life! I’ve found so many times of these games on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, and I hope you’ll find there so much fun too!!
What is a ‘cooking game?’
Cooking games are a new type of time management game where the player (you!) operates a restaurant. You get to be the waiter, the chef, and the owner of the restaurant. This may seem like a lot of fun, but it also means a lot of work – you cook the food, serve the food, improve the restaurant, and – in the best games – you get to decorate it too!
All of that may seem easy, but at harder difficulties the time management is quite a challenge! Customers will be coming in non-stop, and it isn’t easy to remember all their orders! You’ll find it’s tricky to keep track of what each customer has ordered and cook it properly before they become impatient and leave.
As you progress through each cooking game, you’ll unlock new restaurants with cuisines from around the world. Each restaurant has its own challenges, and its own kind of new customers to serve. These new restaurants make sure the game doesn’t get boring, and you always have a new and exciting challenge.

My favorite: COOK IT!
There are many top cooking games to try, with more coming out on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store every single day. With so many cooking games available, it can be difficult to choose the best, but my favorite is ‘Cook It!’ from FlowMotion Entertainment. Why?
- Tap Gameplay: Some cooking games offer drag play, where ingredients must be dragged onto the equipment for cooking… and then your completed food has to be dragged to the waiting customers. Too slow for me! In Cook It!, you simply tap on each item, allowing you to get in a really fun cooking game rhythm.
- Colorful Food and Characters: Every cooking game has its own colorful graphics, but my favorite is Cook It! The food looks so pretty, and the restaurants from around the world are not only so different from one another, each has its own cute cast of characters to serve.
- Decorations: Cook It! has one feature that no other cooking game has… decorating! Each of the restaurants in this cooking game has specific spots where you can place a selection of adorable decorations, allowing you to design each restaurant to your own style. It’s so fun to serve up delicious food in a restaurant that you decorated yourself!
- A Great Challenge: Cook It! is easy to learn, but very challenging to master. You’ll feel like a professional chef in the early stages, but as the difficulty increases with each level and restaurant you’ll find you require more tricks, boosts, and attention to move on. If you really need help, you can spend a little money to give yourself some help!
For all these reasons, Cook It! is my favorite among the cooking games. I’ve really enjoyed checking out this new type of game, so please try it out for yourself and let me know what you think!
