‘Red Dead Online’ is performing better than ‘GTA Online’: Says Take-Two’s Chief

Red Dead Online

Red Dead Online has been released on 27 November 2018 by the Rockstar Games for PlayStation 4 and Xbox one. Earlier it was in its beta phase and now RDO has finally left the Beta phase with a huge update. It is now officially available for everyone along with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Don’t get surprised if we tell you that the ‘Red Dead Online’ has taken over the ‘GTA Online’ in terms of growth and earnings.

Since, both of the games were almost same at their earlier stages, it becomes a relatively easy comparison. Strauss Zelnick, the Take-Two chief himself told in a quarterly earnings call that the Red Dead Online is “performing better” than the GTA Online which was at the similar early stages before.

Red Dead Online is performing better than Grand Theft Auto Online did at the same stage of the game Take-Two chief, Strauss Zelnick

The parent company of Rockstar Games i.e. Take-Two hasn’t made it clear that on what basis they are comparing and measuring the success of Red Dead Online to the GTA Online. So, we have to take it with a pinch of salt.

However, according to Zelnick, 24 million copies of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been sold till the date, 17 millions in just 8 days of release and count reached to 23 million till the end of 2018. These figures are far away to the 110 million copies sold by GTA 5 since debut year September 2013.

Now the bigger question here is, whether or not Red Dead Online keeps its level up than the GTA online. Though, it will not be surprising if it does so. As per the chief, after leaving the beta testing phase, they will solely focus on adding the new features and fixing the bugs to make it even better and keeping its level up.
